How We Work

We involve and work with various partners through volunteers, communication for change, capacity building and development, link creation and networking, programs such as financial literacy, youth development, job creation and training. Furthermore, we link youth with opportunities and solidarity, which is our primary target.

Who We Work For

Although the entire community is the ultimate beneficiary of VOYOTAs programs and activities, the youth is the generation that profits from our major impact. VOYOTA serves the youth in two ways, by directly working with them on the field level and by building their professional capacities so that they are able to initiate and run projects on their own.

Our Approach

VOYOTA has a wide range of activities of which the priority areas are as follows:

  • Youth Development and Economic Empowerment
We support youth to use their skills and knowledge in economic improvement. This is done through training on entrepreneurship and engagement in volunteering and economic development programs. The aim is to make sure that the youth contributes significantly to economic growth in order to attain economic dividend.
  • Environment Preservation
We protect the environment through promoting the responsible and sustainable use of natural resources, planting trees and advocating conservation agriculture and awareness campaigns.
  • Youth Health Education
Health education is one strategy for implementing health promotion and disease prevention programs to adolescents and young people. In collaboration with other development stakeholders we educate young people on mental health, sexual and reproductive health, HIV, Tuberculosis, sexually transmitted diseases and drug abuse through school clubs, community dialogues, discussion trainings and social media.
  • Civic Engagement
We help young people to participate effectively and responsibly in social, political and democratic processes through civic education, leadership trainings, dialogues and social accountability awareness. Hence, we include the youth in decision-making processes and want their voice to be honored.
